Elif İrem Külcü
I'm Elif, a Flutter Developer with 3 years of experience, a Machine Learning enthusiast, Facilitator at GDG on Campus, and former GDSC YTÜ lead. A quick biography would be: I studied Computer Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, led a mobile programming team at SKYLAB, our school's largest technology community, and worked as a Flutter instructor for 2 months at Yıldız Academy. Then I worked at ODTÜ Technopolis and AppNation as a Mobile Engineer for 1.5 years, now I'm still working with Flutter to improve my own projects. I recently led a project called NicLess, which ranked in the top 10 of Google's 2024 Solution Challenge. To address your question, even though I don’t quite understand the relevance, cloud makes a big difference in both my work and daily life. When working on large projects (especially involving machine learning), its flexibility is a lifesaver—I can easily scale computing power without needing new hardware. As a Flutter developer, cloud integration plays a crucial role in my projects, especially through services like Firebase, which provide real-time data storage, authentication, and scalability without complex backend setups. Plus, with automatic backups, I don’t worry about losing photos if my device breaks. Platforms like Netflix store my viewing habits, so I can continue watching anywhere, and tools like Google Docs let me collaborate with others in real-time. Long story short, cloud simplifies lots of aspect of life.

Sessions
This session focuses on optimizing Flutter applications using multithreading. We will discuss Dart’s isolate system and how it can be utilized to offload heavy computations without blocking the main UI thread. Attendees will gain practical knowledge on implementing multithreading strategies, improving app responsiveness, and enhancing overall performance. This talk is aimed at developers looking to optimize their Flutter applications effectively.
